1) When he told me "I am well on my way to falling in love with you," did that really mean, "I have, but saying the actual words would be a bad, bad thing?" Is there such a thing as "On my way to falling in love" with someone? Wouldn't you think that at that point, you already HAVE?
2) When he told me that he would print out emails from me and sleep with them, was he TRYING to get caught?
3) He only said, "This is what I've decided. I am not going to have an affair with you. I am not leaving my wife for you." (which, by the way, I explicitly told him I was never going to ask him to do). He never said: "I am sorry I did this to you."

What was the time difference between #1 and #3, if I may ask?
Oh, it all built up slowly over a few years, like climbing a mountain in low gear. Then we got to a summit, met each other and lost our brakes very quickly. The whole disaster-in-the-making part has taken place over two and a half short, exhilarating, destructive months. The "I am falling in love with you" was just a few weeks ago. I still can't believe it.
