A lovely, lovely man chatted me up last night for quite some time and at the end of the night asked me "Do you fancy me?"
I replied that I "fancied" someone else, and departed with (what I hope was) a gentle smile.
As soon as I got in the cab, it struck me that I am an idiot, IDIOT and that I was hedging a bet on someone unavailable AGAIN -- that I made myself unavailable when I should be making myself available. I immediately called W, whom I had left in the bar and said, "Please give ____ my phone number." Alas, he had already left, right after I did.
As I said, I am an EEEEDEEEYOT.

don't be so hard on yourself. after all, you fixed the problem. :)
Sometimes we take what looks like a missed opportunity, and turn them into just GREAT opportunities to "prove" the negative self-images we carry. The word "Idiot" would probably have found its way into your self-analysis, even if you had made yourself available to the man who was available.
You know how we play those games. I know this is not a revelation.
It doesn't matter whether you fancy someone unavailable, or fancy someone available, until... you just fancy yourself.
Well, fancy that!
(I love that I found a way to fit in "fancy" so many times in one post!)
Love,

PS: I know what I wrote is cliche, but it's meant with heart, and there is truth in it.
I'm gonna be hard on you! DONT YOU START THIS PATTERN CHICKY! We both know how it goes... Keep urself avail let big boy commit first before your unavail to others.
